There isn't a whole lot going on around here. I haven't been called in to substitute yet so I might have to email some of my teacher friends so they know I'm available and can request me. That would probably get me some days here and there.
It's Jon's golden birthday today. I bought mini cakes from Yummy's and we're having company tonight once Jon gets out of work. Hopefully he's able to make his own birthday dinner. Last night he had to mow in the dark because he got stuck with rounds after a meeting. Wednesday night he got home late because as he was about to leave he passed a room where a patient was coding. He delivered chest compressions and other doctors worked on the patient, but unfortunately the patient passed away from a heart attack. That wasn't a fun way to end the day and was a new experience for Jon.
Is anyone else overjoyed that the fall shows are back? I have some shows that I didn't get to see last night that are waiting for me on the DVR. I watched CSI and The Office last night. Baby girl is going to be used to my laugh if The Office continues to crack me up. CSI is one of the only serious shows that isn't getting old to me at all. It looks beautiful on our big TV also. We watched Life on Wednesday and I think I'm going to really like it. The main actor was in Band of Brothers and Dreamcatcher. He reminds me of our friend James Haase because he's charming, but a little bit of a jerk at the same time. I like that mixture because it keeps you guessing.
We're looking forward to visiting family this weekend. It's been way too long since we got out of town!
