I had yet another boring OB appointment today. I didn't even look at the scale because I figure ignorance is bliss. My BP was fine, belly measured the same as last week, and the heartrate for baby was in the 140s. The doctor says that I've dropped some since she can now plainly tell where the baby's head is, but I've not dropped all the way since she can still feel a good portion of the head. I didn't have an internal exam so I don't know if I'm dilated or effaced at all yet. At least she's making some progress in the right direction.
I made some delicious goodies today. Here's what you do: Get a box of semi sweet Baker's chocolate (8 squares). Melt it according to the directions and add 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract and mix it around. Dip Ritz crackers into the chocolate and scrape/drip off the excess. Place the crackers on waxed paper and top with crushed candy cane. Refrigerate for about half an hour and voila! A box of Baker's chocolate is enough for one sleeve of crackers. They taste a lot like thin mints from Girl Scouts, but they're more festive in appearance. Yummy!
If you look really closely you'll see why I've decided it's time for baby girl to come out - I finally have stretch marks on my belly.
